Read an E-Book Week

3rd - 9th March 2019

Started by Rita Toews and now maintained by Smashwords, for the one week only, publishers and authors offer thousands of original e-books for free and at deep discounts to encourage book lovers around the globe to give e-books a try.

Read an E-Book Week brings together e-book retailers, publishers, authors, device-makers and untold thousands of readers who join in this international literary event of e-book discovery.

World Book Day

7th March 2019

The main aim of World Book Day in the UK and Ireland is to encourage children to explore the pleasures of books and reading by providing them with the opportunity to have a book of their own.

In its 22nd year, World Book Day takes place on the 7th of March and will be sending schools (including those nurseries and secondary schools that have specially registered to participate), packs of Book Tokens and age-ranged World Book Day Resource Packs.

While mainly supported by the large publishers and associated with paper books, World Book Day is still a great day for all readers to shout about the books they love, their favourite authors and publishers, and where to find great books regardless of format.

Keep an eye open

We'll be promoting some special deals and free e-books throughout Read an E-Book Week, and especially for children on World Book Day.
